SCGA Foundation Launches
Youth on Course and Web Site
STUDIO CITY, CA - This week the SCGA Foundation launched Youth on Course, a new program that increases the affordability and accessibility of golf for juniors. Through this program, certified juniors can play the game for $2 or less and can hit balls for a $1 during off-peak hours at local golf facilities.
Juniors must be certified through a local junior golf program that works with the SCGA Foundation. Certification includes testing of golf etiquette, ability, and rules, but also requires taking part in a life skills program such as The First Tee's curriculum (www.thefirsttee.org). The SCGA Foundation will open this program to all Southern California youth by 2010. Currently, there are seven organizations that certify juniors and 25 courses participating in Southern
California. Founded in 2003 by the NCGA Foundation, Youth on Course is now a statewide initiative. All participants in both organizations have reciprocal benefits which allow any certified youth access to over 100 courses in California. With this partnership, the SCGA and NCGA Foundations are making the game and its inherent values more accessible to
any child. To learn more about Youth on Course and the participating golf facilities, please visit www.scgafoundation.org or

New SCGA Foundation Website
SCGA Foundation has unveiled a redesigned Web site this week, which marks
another phase of a strategic branding initiative that began this year for the
Foundation. The attractive, clean and freshly designed site
(www.scgafoundation.org) provides expanded information about the Foundation
and its programs, such as Youth on Course, Giving Back through the Game
grants, and Leaving a Legacy scholarships. This updated look is a part of a
marketing initiative to attract and encourage those of all ages to learn more
about the SCGA Foundation and become involved.
