FCG NATIONAL ACADEMY
"Training Juniors for the Highest Level of Competition"

Top of the Class

Our juniors are some of the hardest working players in the world. We like to show off their talent here! Check out some of these actions!

In 2007 Jonah Texeira joined the Academy and trained with Chris very hard for 9 months. In 2008 he was #1 Player in the 11-12 SDJGADivision, #1 on the FCG Callaway Golf Challenge Tour, finished 4th at Junior World, Medalist at Optimist Qualifier, won the US Kids Wigwam Championship, multiple FCWT event victories in 2009, and continues to shine everywhere he plays. Long off the tee averaging well over 260 yards, great short game, and an attitude to destroy the competition.

In Fall 2008 Tyler Moore began spending 1-2 hours a week at the FCG Academy with Instructor Chris Smeal. He quickly began to dominate all the tours he was competeing on and has risen to be the #2 ranked player in the Nation according to Junior Golf Scoreboard. Tyler has accomplished many things the past year including a record setting 61 at the par 70 Vineyard, a 2-Day 10 under total at the SDJGA Craig Stadler CHampionship, was FCWT Player of the Yeay, currently ranks #1 on the SDJGA Points list, #1 on the FCG Challenge Tour points list, and continues to excel at every level. Oh yeah, and he is just 12 years old.

GREAT NEWS!
Tyler Moore finishes in 2nd Place at the 2009 Callaway Junior World Championship shooting 8 under for 54-Holes

Haley Moore joined the Academy with her brother last fall and is doing very well. She is the current points leader for the 11-14 FCG Challenge Tour at 10 years old. She is also the #1 player in the 9-10 division for the SDJGA. She qualified for the US Kids World Championship this year with a 4 under par 32 at Carlton Oaks. This girl can play!

Haley finishes in 7th Place in 2009 Callaway Junior World

Waverly Whiston is awesome. Playing great the past few years she is qualified to compete in the 2009 Callaway Junior World and the US Kids World Championship. She will also compete at the San Diego Junior Masters. Last year she finished 7th in Junior World and was the only girl from California to make the cut.

Cecelia DeMatteo has been at the Academy for just over 1 year. In June she shot a record 4 under par 32 at Carlton Oaks to Qualify for the US Kids World Championship at Pinehurst. She is a really cool young lady; even called Michael Breed at the Golf Channel and had her question answered on the GOLF FIX!

Sidney Cozier, age 10 is a fantastic young player. Excellent driver and iron play, continues to improve his putting and short game. In the above video he is working on a soft chip shot.
