Special Event 10/19 after Round 1 of Play: College golf talk with former USC men's coach Ted Gleason.
Welcome players and parents to the 5th Annual FCG Santa Barbara Championship at the unbelievable Sandpiper Golf Club. This event is very unique allowing all junior golfers the chance to play a competitive event at an unbelievable venue.
From 2009-2012 FCG hosted the event and the course was in perfect condition. Greens are all sloped from back to front and are wickedly fast. Players will have to control their approach shots and handle the greens as best they can to shoot a good number.
***Collegiate Prep Boys – All players ages 15-18 must play in this field. All boys 12-15 who are looking to take their game to the highest level should play up in this division.
Collegiate Prep Girls – All Girls 15-18 must play in this field. All Girls 12-14 who are looking to take their game to the highest level should play up in this division.
Why Change of Divisions: Formerly our boys 16-19 and girls 15-18 divisions while competetive having a strict age group discouraged younger elite players from playing up. Also the change of age group will bring larger fields of great players leading to better strength of field and more AJGA exemptions.
A Major Event for FCG National Tour Fall Series Points Race and this event will be worth Double Points. The Fall Series will run from September 15 thrugh December 9-10 Tour Championship at Menifee Lakes. Top point earners will earn AJGA Exemptions, multiple events ranked by Golfweek, all events ranked by NJGS.
