What is expected of you as a Player in Tournaments? Proper Attire: This includes collared shirt in good condition, golf shorts or slacks. Shirt Tucked in. Golf shoes preferred. No metal spikes. You must provide your own equipment. Including Clubs, Balls, Tees , Markers, Towel, Rule Book, Glove, etc You must check-in at the Tournament Registration Table 30-minutes prior to your tee time. You should then be sure to be at the 1st tee no later than ten minutes before you start. It is a 2 stroke penalty if you are late to the first tee. You should arrive to the Tournament Course an Hour before to warm-up properly for the tournament. That includes warming up on the range, putting, and chipping. Bring your own water and food to keep you hydrated and strong throughout the round. Sometimes the rounds can be very long so it is your responsibility to bring the necessary amount of food and drink. Don't count on a beverage cart to be going around during the tournaments. Some events may have, but don't count on it. Do yourself a favor and wear a hat and apply sunscreen. Good Sportsmanlike conduct: Treat Other Players, Officials, and Volunteers with respect. They are there to help you and many of them are donating there time. No Club Throwing will be tolerated. Cheating will not be tolerated. i. You will be responsible for keeping track of other player's scores. Please discuss with the player you are keeping score of what they made at the conclusion of each hole so there is no confusion at the end of the round. ii. It is your responsibility as a Player to help protect the field and report any cheating or any shaving of strokes during tournament play. Play your best and have fun. At the conclusion of play you are required to sign your scorecard and the scorecard of the person you scored for. Make sure you double check each individual hole. You as a Player are responsible for the scores on a hole by hole basis, not the total. (Ex. If your scorer puts a 3 down on Number 2 and you really got a 4 and the total is still correct, you will be disqualified. Many great players have been disqualified and in some really big events. Learn the lessons now so it doesn't happen to you. Take care of the Golf Course while you are there. The course's are well manicured and cost a lot of money to be maintained for you to play on. It is your responsibility as a player to take care of the course. This includes: Fixing all ball marks on the green when your ball lands on it. Fix it properly make sure you carry a divot tool and you pull the grass clump back and smooth out the grass so other's can putt. Please fix any other ball marks that you see too. Fill all Divots with Sand or with the Grass that you just hit out. You don't want to hit your ball into a big hole in the fairway and neither does anyone else. Environmentally Sensitive Areas on Golf Courses means DO NOT ENTER THEM. Your ball is in a hazard and you cannot play it or retrieve it. You must take the proper relief of two club lengths from point of entry. When you practice on the range. Make a nice divot pattern on the grass. Do not just hit your balls from anywhere you choose. There should be a nice pattern of divots in a small area. That way other can practice later. Rake all Bunkers after you hit into one. The players behind you should not be penalized for your laziness. Make sure the sand is smooth for the next players. Ground under Repair is marked by a white line or circle around an area that is under repair. You get a free drop if your ball is in it or even if your feet must stand in it. |
