FAQ about Camps
San Diego's Best Instruction Staff
Q: Do I need to provide my child with a lunch for the camp?
A: Round Table Pizza is provided on Day 1 and Day 2 of all 3-Day Fun Camps, included on all 1-Day Camps, and lunch is provided everyday of the Jr. Golf School. If your child does not want pizza, please provide them with a lunch and we can store it in the facilities refrigerator.
Q: How many kids will be in the Camp?
A: It is hard to tell. Generally the camps range from 10 kids to 48 being the max we can host.
The teacher to student ratio is generally 8:1 max with additional high school golf couselors on site for assistance. Chris Smeal will be the primary golf instructor for all camps and lesson programs. When there are more than 8 kids to a camp, assistant instructors include PGA Apprentice Antrone Williams, LPGA teaching professional Kristi Massicotti, former collegiate player Joe Lucidi,
Big Break 5 Contestant and 2002 US Womes Open Champion Becky Lucidi, and San Diego State University Mens Head Golf Coach Ryan Donovan. The staff is excellent and they are all wonderful with kids.
Q: Are there any after hours programs available as I can not pick up my kids in time.
A: At this time we do not have an after hours program available. After the camp is complete Parents are required to pick up immediately. You can always let a responsible child stay at Stadium and get him range balls to practice or batting cage tokens.
Q: Are all the 3-Day Camps the same structure?
A: The 3-Day Camps are the same time each week; 9am-1pm at Stadium Golf Center on Day 1 and Day 2. Day 3 is a 9 hole tournament at Four Points Golf Course for beginners and Carlton Oaks GC for Advanced Players . During each camp your child will learn about the swing, ettiquette, safety, rules, chipping, pitching, and putting. Each week we will vary the material so that the camps do not seem the same. The contests will be different each week. The format for the tournament will vary, etc. I always ask each child why they are at the camp and if they have any questions about Golf.
Q: How do I register for a Camp?
A: The best way to register for a camp is to print out a registration form off of this website. Fill out all the required info and send in the mail along with a check payable to Future Champions Golf for the appropriate amount to

There is a terrific list of benefits available to all members. No junior program in San Diego offers a better deal. You can also join San Diego Junior Golf Assocation and Future Champions Golf for $80, saves you $15.
Q: My child seems too advanced for this program. What else do you offer?
A: This summer there are a wide variety of programs available. Besides the 3-day fun camps, we offer the Chris Smeal Summer Golf School. This is a great program and was very successful for the students last summer. There is also the Elite Team Instruction program that has 4-5 players that practice with me once a week in the evening or afternoons during the summer. There are always private lessons available too.
