FAQ

Q. Where is the CAMP located?
A. Day 1 and Day 2 are located at Stadium Golf Center at 2990 Murphy Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92123. I15 and Aero Drive Exit; next to Fry's Electronics. Day 3 is held at the 9-Hole par 3 SAIL HO Golf Course in Point Loma.

Q. What age is this Camp For?
A. We split the players up into small groups based on age or skill. Due to the nature of this kind of camp we recommend it for ages 5-14. Ages 6 and under should start with a private lesson to get some basics learned and do assure interest in the game. For intermediate juniors 10 and older we have group clinics, golf schools, and camps geared for advanced development as well.

Q. Do I need to provide my son or daughter with lunch?
A. No we will provide all campers with lunch each day and unlimited bottled water. There is a vending machine if you would like to leave your child with money. There is a refrigerator if you wish to bring your own lunch.

Q. What is the Itinerary for Camp?
A. Day 1 will be check-in from 8:45-9:00 at the FCG Teaching Studio at Stadium Golf Center. Then all players will do a meet and greet session along with stretching and games. From there everyone is split into groups (you can choose who to stay with if you came with friends). Then we rotate stations of Full Swing on the Range, Putting, and Chipping Practice. At 11:30 we gather for Baja Fresh Quesadillas and Chips. Back to Golf from 12-1pm. Day 2 is the same format with new skills learned and new games. Day 3 is a 9-Hole Scramble Fun Tournament. All participants receive a certificate at the completion of camp.

Q. What is the Teacher-Student Ratio?
A. We have a maximum 8:1 Student Teacher Ratio. In addition we always have assistants and advanced juniors on hand to assist with the camp.

Q. Check-In and Check-Out Procedures?
A. At check-in you will sign the Camp Waiver and verify contact information. All players will receive a name tag. At the end of each day each parent must check-out their child with a Staff Member.

Q. What other programs do you offer?
A. Future Champions Golf is the leading junior golf academy on the west coast offering camps, clinics, priavte lessons, tournaments and more. Please talk with a staff member to find the right program for you or call us at 619-339-2377.

Q. How long have you been running this program?
A. This program started in 2003 and has been a great porgram for getting kids into the game. Many of San Diego's best young players started in this program. We teach these kids to enjoy golf as a sport and to continue learning about the game.

Q. How is the last day run at Sail Ho?
A. This is the best day of camp as we get all the kids out onto the golf course and teach them about the course, the areas, and the rules. We walk around and explain situations, pace of play, and where to place your bag as you go. Then we team up in small groups and play a 9-Hole Scramble Tournament. Each group of kids is paired with a pro, college, or high school player. We teach them how to keep score as a team and at the end all the players earn the same certificate.

- Basic Full Swing Technique (Grip, Set-Up, Posture, Balance, Drills)
- Putting Set Up (Drills Learned, How to Read the Green, Speed Control, Rules and Etiquette)
- Chipping Basics (Set-Up Position, Motion, Distance Control, Club Selcetion)
- On Course Lesson on Day 3/ Tournament (About the Course, Rules and Etiquette, Keeping Score, Club Selection, Finding Yardage, How to Play a Tournament, etc)
- Tons of Drills and Games to keep the Game Super Fun and Encouraging Interest

Final Day of Junior Golf Camp is a 9-Hole Scramble Team Tournament where groups of 4 to 6 kids will play 9-Hole event. A Professional, College Player, or High School Standout will accompany each group. All Players will receive a Certificate During Tournament Awards Ceremony after play on the 3rd Day of Camp. Parents are encouraged to attend the ceremony and take photos of an end to a great week of golf.

There are programs available with Future Champions Golf for every level of player. If you are a beginner we have programs that will help you develop your skills to the level you desire. For intermediate players we have instruction and tournament programs designed for you to improve and to compete against other juniors with similar ability. For advanced juniors we have instruction programs by Chris Smeal designed to take your game to the highest level imagineable. In 2008 we will have the strart of a New Era in Junior Golf in San Diego called "The Challenge Tour". This Tour is designed to test your skills on San Diego's Toughest Courses. All events are 36-Holes and will be Nationally Recognized by Junior Golf Scoreboard.

San Diego Junior Golf Lessons and Programs by PGA Professional Chris Smeal and staff. San Diego Junior Golf Tournaments for advanced Players and beginners. A Developmental Tour for San Diego's Rising Stars. Combining all elements of Junior Golf into one fun program for all levels. San Diego's Most Popular Junior Golf Camps and Junior Golf Classes. Offering the most adanced junior instruction programs for players across the globe. Programs available with room and board begin in 2008. One week, two-week, and three week junior golf schools available with Chris Smeal, PGA. Join us at Stadium Golf Center and our new home course: Carlton Oaks Golf Course in Santee, California. San Diego's Best Junior Golf Program for kids 4-18. Chris has also started the San Diego Junior Golf Academy program which is designed only for college bound junior golfers. These golfers are highly skilled players who compete nationally on the AJGA and IJGT Tours. San Diego's newest junior golf tournament program starts this December and is called the Future Champions Golf Challenge Tour. This Tour will begin in the same year as the US Open Golf Championship comes to Torrey Pines in San Diego.

In 2007 Chris coached 14 of his students to qualify for Junior World. He also helped many juniors prepare and succeed in National Events on the AJGA and the IJGT Tours. The Chris Smeal Golf Schools Program is like no other program around offering 5-full days of coaching with Chris Smeal and only 4 students per session. Last year all partcipants shot their lowest score during one of the rounds with Chris. In 2008 Future Champions Golf squared up 2-2 in the match play event sponsored by Oakley called the Oakley Kids Cup. Each year 36-players from each team play match play for the Kids Cup.
